18th Africa Union Head of State Summit 23 - 30 January 2012, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia "Boosting Intra-African Trade" Trade is widely accepted as a fundamental engine for the achievement of rapid and sustainable economic growth and development for many of the countries.  The 18th African Union Summit will be held on 23rd – 30th January 2012 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Summit will focus on the theme “Boosting Intra-African Trade”. Indeed, the boosting of intra‐African trade and the deepening of Africa’s market integration, by fostering competition among African countries, will assist in enhancing their capacity and prepare them to compete more effectively on the global market.
